OFF TO THE ISLANDS: KOH PHANGAN

After a very short 20 minute ferry over from Koh Samui we arrived at 'Sea Side Bungalows' booked through hostelworld.com. We arrived at around 9am - 5 hours before we could check in 🤦🏼♀️😂

TIP: Don't book early morning ferrys with late check in. We paid around £10 a night - this accommodation is basic of the basic... But the setting is unreal. We watched the sunset here every night and it got more beautiful every time.

If you aren't too snobby or need it for the full moon (right by it) it's great. The drinks are expensive so head left down the beach down to 'Coral Bungalows' we ate every meal here.. Such good value and good food. You can get egg on toast for like 60 BHT (£1.40) or a full English, fruit, juice and coffee for like 130 BHT (£3.25).

We went in low season so the whole place was dead - we decided to use our days here as chill days and sort out our onward flights. Yet again another #travelfail. Everyone says book things when you're there 'no plan best plan' but with flights it makes a huge difference! We had about 4/5 flights to book and they were so much more expensive as we were booking them. We spent ages looking at different options for Philippines etc and finally booked them all. Then Josh read them back to me and he realised he booked our flight from Bali > Kuala Lumpur for 3rd of December not January *face palm*. So we spent a few more hours waiting for a live chat with Asia Asia but we finally sorted (for an expense😩). At least we had a beautiful view!

We stayed at the bungalows for 3 nights before moving to a hotel for our last night that was within walking distance of the ferry port to go over to Koh Tao. We stayed at Phangan Island View Hotel, a little more pricey than the bungalows (£15.00 a night) but it had an amazing pool and outdoor area we even managed to squeeze in a hitt workout.

The rooms were quite different from the beach bungalow that's for sure.
It's near 'The Fat Cat Cafe’ - a must visit. Try the pancakes they are AMAZING and all quite reasonably priced.

Josh went out on the scooter that afternoon and found 'Secret Mountain' (it's on maps it's not secret). The views looked incredible.

That evening we walked (no bikes this time) to a coffee shop called 'Doppio' just around the corner that had REAL coffee and coconut milk (a rare find in Thailand) we picked up two coffees for 60 BHT (£1.40) each before heading to the Phantip night market.

They had everything at the market; Thai food, fresh Spring rolls, oyster omelettes, pastries, cakes, kebabs, pizza, juices. It was full of locals so we knew it was good. We shared a few things everything was around 30-60BHT (80p-£1.40) and sat and at at the seating at the back with some drinks we picked up from 7/11 (#budgetlife).

These were revolting lol

We also grabbed some amazing chocolate banana bread *dribble* and mango sticky rice to take back to our hotel for Netflix snacks. Obv.

We were really sad to leave Koh Phangan; but with a belly full of Thai food and sugar & 3 episodes of Power down we were excited for our Koh Tao diving adventure 🐢
